A light and wholesome twist on the classic shawarma: tender spiced chicken (Donner styled) wrapped in soft, whole-grain brown Arabic bread with fresh veggies and a creamy yogurt sauce — nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing.
Ingredients
- Brown Arabic bread, 2–4
- Grilled chicken breast strips, marinated in shawarma spices
- 2–3 tbsp Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup diced cucumber
- ½ cup diced tomato
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
Optional garnish: sliced pickles or microgreens
Method
- Prepare yogurt sauce: mix Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Warm brown Arabic bread lightly if desired.
- Lay bread flat and spread yogurt sauce evenly.
- Place grilled chicken strips in the center.
- Add lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and parsley on top.
- Roll tightly into a wrap and cut in half if desired.
- Optional: garnish with sliced pickles or microgreens
